An error 401 (Unauthorized) occurs when processing a Google Sheet feed

If your automation fails with the 401 (Unauthorized) status code when processing a Google Sheet feed that is intended to be publicly accessible, check the sharing settings of your Google Sheet.

The most common cause is that General access is set to Restricted. If the feed is intended to be publicly accessible, change the setting to Anyone with the link.

To change the sharing settings:

  1. Open the Google Sheet.

  2. From the top menu, go to File > Share > Share with others.

  3. Under General access, change Restricted to Anyone with the link.

  4. Make sure the access role is set to Viewer.

  5. Click Done.

Under General access, select Anyone with the link and set the access role to Viewer

Stockeo should now be able to access the Google Sheet when processing the feed.
